Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Find answers to common questions about our services, trading strategies, and how we help you achieve financial success.

What is Forex Trading?

Forex (foreign exchange) trading involves buying one currency while simultaneously selling another, aiming to profit from changes in their relative value. It's the largest and most liquid financial market in the world, operating 24 hours a day during the trading week.

What are currency pairs?

Currencies are always traded in pairs — for example, EUR/USD or USD/KES. The first currency is the "base," and the second is the "quote." The price shows how much of the quote currency is needed to buy one unit of the base currency.

What is the difference between Major, Minor and Exotic Pairs?

Major pairs involve the US dollar and another heavily traded currency (like EUR/USD or GBP/USD) and tend to have the tightest spreads. Minor pairs exclude the US dollar (like EUR/GBP). Exotic pairs include one major currency and one from a smaller or emerging economy (like USD/KES), and typically carry wider spreads and higher volatility.

What moves the forex market?

Interest rate decisions, inflation data, employment figures, political events, and central bank policy all influence currency values. Because it's a global market, news from any major economy can move prices at any hour.

What is leverage in forex trading?

Leverage lets a trader control a larger position with a smaller amount of capital, borrowed from the broker. It magnifies both potential gains and potential losses, which is why risk management — not just position size — is central to any sound strategy.

Is forex trading risky?

Yes. Currency markets can move quickly, and leverage increases exposure. Prices are also affected by events outside any trader's control, such as central bank announcements. No approach removes this risk entirely, which is why position sizing and stop-losses matter as much as market analysis.

What is an index and what does it mean to trade one

A stock market index tracks the combined performance of a group of companies, such as the top 30 companies on a given exchange. Rather than buying shares in each company individually, index trading lets you take a position on the overall direction of that basket of stocks.

What are some commonly traded indices?

Widely traded indices include US benchmarks tracking large-cap companies, as well as European and Asian indices. Each reflects the health and sentiment of a different regional or sector-specific slice of the economy.
